Sure, why not drop $700 on two ounces of rare cognac while in Las Vegas? Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace just opened its ritzy new Cognac Room, a place where Eater Vegas discovers one can order some pretty pricy pours. There’s the $700 pour of Martell L’Or de Jean Martell, a $500 pour of Rémy Martin Louis XIII, and a $600-an-ounce pour of Hardy Perfection. Sommelier Phil Park explains that the bar’s collection of cognacs will constantly evolve as it’s not quite possible to get these rare bottles back in stock once one bottle is killed — and anyone who finishes a bottle gets to take it home with them.
Of course, a $700 pour is probably no big deal when you’re hanging out at a restaurant whose tasting menu is the fifth most expensive in the United States. Not only is there an Innovation-Inspiration tasting menu at $891 for two people, but Guy Savoy also has a tasting menu with Krug pairings for $750. And don’t worry, whales: there’s expensive champagne in the Cognac Room, too.
