Cognac, Coniak, Coniac or Conyak?

The proper noun is Cognac, a city and wine region in France. The name “cognac” generically applies to distilled white wine, or brandy.

Sometimes people write Coniak, Cogyak, Coniac or even Conyak… All are wrong šŸ˜‰

Bottles with Conyak, Conyakki, Koniac etc are forbidden by French (and many other countries) law…

However these words are spelled wrong, it happends a lot that rappers call their drink Conyak (or a degeneration on this).
